Extremely relatable. I retire this Friday and have plans to leave the US in January. It's not that I feel I can find somewhere "safe or stable," it's more that I will be a foreigner in a foreign land. To me, it's more palatable for someone to vote for Vox in Andalusia than to know my sister voted for Trump. I need to be a foreigner in a foreign land at this point (of despair) in my life.

You are not neurotic. The despair in being realistic and aware but powerless while the world is burning is a visceral fear for many and is taking it's toll.

I admire your persistence of trying to enlighten US citizens. But, as you know, throughout the history of "civilization," the masses always lose. There is always a maniacal, narcissistic, sociopathic guy with his merry band of wannabe alphas who beats us into submission. These bastards know how to get blood out of a turnip even after they destroyed the garden.

As for me, I'm leaving the US in January and, hopefully, finding some sand in which I can stick my head - at least for awhile. lol

I do hope the best for you and your family + Sri Lanka. And I hope you continue trying to reach the unreachables.

I agree with you but getting people to do this is like getting Americans to stop using Amazon delivery, shopping at Walmart, buying local, recycling, and eating at McDonalds. Yes, citizens can take action, but we have GOT to re-take our government for REAL reforms over corporations or nothing will change except for increasing human misery.

Dios te perdonará. lol I have sought redemption for and from myself for attending the memorial service for the Columbia astronauts (Johnson Space Center) and Shrub (George II) was the speaker. I think my spouse (ex for many years now) never forgave me. Jajajaja

As a recovering Texan, this hits home. And, it's why I'll never move back to Texas and why I will only visit my daughter in Arizona and will not be living near her when I retire. Plus, planning to get TF out of Virginia ASAP. I hope to soon be a recovering "American." There is hate and violence spanning the globe, but coming from people who look like me is not that big of an impact. What sickens me is that it comes from too many friends and family (my daughter not included!).
